ALICE physics results from the p-Pb pilot run
The pilot p-Pb run that took place in September was a success. It showed that the LHC is ready for providing us with these precious data. It also led to significant, I would even say, extraordinary physics results.
So far the analysis of the data taken during the pilot run resulted in the publication of three papers. The first two of them, namely the charged-particle multiplicity and the charged-particle spectra, were prepared and submitted shortly after the run. They were the first experimental papers on p-Pb collisions at the LHC. Very recently we also announced striking results on the di-hadron correlations. The analysis of the data revealed a completely unexpected double-ridge structure with so far unknown origin.
